Since its establishment in 1986 Kessler Car Hire has made a name for itself as being one of the first car hire companies offering 4x4 vehicles to self-drivers in Windhoek / Namibia. By 1997 the company was able to call up to 100 vehicles their own. Vehicle variety and flexibility were increased yet again when Caprivi Car Hire and Kessler Car Hire merged in 2001.

The Kessler Car Hire fleet stretches from four-wheel drives (4x4) to mini busses. The four-wheel drive selection offers adapted solutions for the Namibian infrastructure, as well as all the necessary camping gear. All vehicles are services by our own service garage in order to ensure flexibility and the highest security standards.

Namibia’s road network is known as one of the best in Africa. All of Namibia’s main roads are tarred. The majority of the roads are however sand and gravel roads. Our advice for all self driving tours is therefore in the direction of the four-wheel drive, as they have better ground clearance and they offer a more comfortable driving experience, even on poor roads.

  • Personal instruction in the handling of a four-wheel drive and the respective equipment.

  • For any problems on the road we offer our 24 hour Caprivi Car Hire breakdown service. You can therefore be sure to finish your trip even after a breakdown or an accident.

We offer three insurance packages with different excess options to ensure that you avoid any unpleasant surprises during your holiday. We are happy to inform you in a personal conversation. Kessler Car Hire offers the following extra services:

  • Our vehicles are fixed with route loggers that record your travel route through Namibia and neighbouring countries. We offer this tracking data and a complimenting merging programme free of charge. Using Google Earth you are able to create an interactive photo album using your travel route and photos.
